About the Artist
Joan McGinnis LeBlanc was born in the ninth ward of the city of New Orleans. She lived there for 22 years before moving to a suburb of New Orleans where she raised her five children. Mrs. LeBlanc is also the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren. As of 2013, she resides in Georgia with her family and husband of more than 50 years.
Growing up with a love of drawing, many of her paintings depict the city she knows and loves. She is able to capture the city streets and landscapes, as well as the essence and history of New Orleans at its finest.

Aside from selling her paintings locally and nationally, Joan LeBlanc has been featured in the Rivertown Art Gallery in Kenner, Louisiana on two separate occasions. Two of her paintings also hang in the Jefferson Parish Administration Building in Gretna, Louisiana.
Throughout her career, Mrs. LeBlanc has studied with many local and nationally known artists. She has participated in classes and workshops and taken art courses at Delgado College in New Orleans. Her paintings have won the Grumbacher Award on two occasions.
Joan LeBlanc plays a large role in the art community of New Orleans as well. She has served two terms as President of the West Bank Art Guild and helps to manage the Westwego Art Center in Historic Salaville in Westwego, Louisiana.
In the future, Mrs. LeBlanc plans to continue studying art and painting. Through her work she hopes to develop a style of her own, which will be recognized by all who view and purchase her art.
